Loch Castle: Mojito
Branding
Packaging
Loch Castle is a premium ready-to-drink mojito that fuses heritage and freshness. The challenge was to create a brand identity and packaging system that would stand out in a competitive market saturated with craft beers, RTD cocktails, and flavored spirits. The goal was to reflect the sophistication of a castle-inspired heritage brand while maintaining the refreshing, contemporary, and approachable spirit of a mojito.
The Case
Alcoholic Beverages | Ready-to-Drink Cocktail
The brand essence of Loch Castle is built around heritage, elegance, and natural refreshment. The name evokes imagery of Scottish lochs and historic castles—symbols of strength, tradition, and timeless character. To balance this, the mojito as a product introduces a fresh, lively, and vibrant dimension to the identity, bridging tradition with modern indulgence.
Visual Identity
Logo Design: The logotype combines a serif typographic style, inspired by classic heraldry, with modern refinements to convey premium quality. A crest-like symbol subtly integrates botanical motifs—lime leaves and mint sprigs—tying the brand back to the mojito experience.
Color Palette: A palette of emerald green, silver, and deep navy reinforces freshness, premium cues, and the connection to water and heritage. Pops of lime green add vibrancy and cue the cocktail’s freshness.
Typography: The hierarchy mixes a classic serif for elegance and authority with a clean sans serif for modern readability, ensuring balance across packaging and communication.

The Challenge
The RTD cocktail space is saturated with designs that either lean towards youthful party aesthetics or minimalist craft cues. The main challenge for Loch Castle was finding the middle ground:
How can a mojito feel authentic and premium while still being vibrant and refreshing?
How do we reflect the brand name “Loch Castle”—which carries strong heritage associations—without making it feel old-fashioned or inaccessible?
And finally, how do we craft a packaging system that can scale to multiple SKUs (like Mojito, Piña Colada, Spritz, etc.) while remaining visually consistent?
This tension between tradition and vibrancy became the foundation of the design approach.

Outcome
The final Loch Castle identity and packaging solution achieves:
Strong shelf impact through a bold crest and refined color palette.
Premium differentiation against casual, party-driven RTD competitors.
Scalable design system ready for future flavor extensions.
A narrative-driven identity that elevates Loch Castle beyond being “just another mojito” and positions it as a refined lifestyle choice.
Ultimately, Loch Castle Mojito becomes more than a cocktail—it is a visual and sensory experience that bridges tradition and freshness, offering consumers a taste of indulgence with every sip.
